The Rilakkuma Valentine Party was a great way to open up the new JapanLA location. Thank you for everyone who came by...and thanks to Bubble Punch who helped out with the party...and a big Thanks to San-X for doing the party with us. Here is a recap of the daytime events.
We opened up and there was a line of people waiting to be among the 1st 25 people to get a free gift. JapanLA was stocked with lots of cute Rilakkuma, Kutusitanyanko, & Mamegoma items brought in special from Japan for the party.
Thanks to the super cute Lolitas & Friends who helped out at the party. (These are just a few pics of them, there were 13 who helped throughout the day.)
Jenny Rae came by and made special cakeballs for the event. The Rilakkuma ones sold out instantly. San-X bought the 1st 100 Lil' Rae Cakes for the party.
Jenny Rae & Friends are so good at jumping photos!
Rilakkuma's DIY Valentine Card Station was a big hit. You could make your own Rilakkuma-themed Valentine for free in the back. Notice how it's all adults in this room, proving you never have to grow out of liking cute things.
Since Rilakkuma likes to eat crepes, we had the Crepe n' Around Truck out front in the afternoon. The 1st 50 guests received a free crepe. These cute Rilakkuma & Korilakkuma holding-a-crepe Plushies are still available right now. Only $29.95 in the store, or $34.95 if we are shipping it to you. These are big, 18" tall.
Everyone who came by seemed to be enjoying themselves. I loved this couple who took great exciting photos.
You know we love jumping photos. Here are a couple for you. (These girls look like a team of superheroes.)
Tera Patrick came by to say Hi! She is so awesome and sweet.
I love "LOVE." This pic is so cute.
If you brought in the coupon from the LA Weekly newspaper, you received a free set of Rilakkuma & Korilakkuma Finger Puppets. Since a lot of you had trouble finding the paper, if you come to JapanLA, we'll still give you a set if you tell us the secret password: "Rilakkuma Love." You can do this until the end of February or while supplies last.
Look at these cute Plush Speakers. These come in Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, and Kutusitanyanko, $48 each, and these don't need batteries to work. Just plug them into anything you'd plug headphones into, like your ipod, cellphone, computer, etc.
Thanks for coming by everyone. All the pictures are on www.orlandowelsh.com . The pics are so artsy and cute. Thanks Orlando for taking such great photos. The night time party photos are on that link too!
I will do a night time party recap asap!
P.S. Our new hours have started. We are open: M-F 11:30am - 7:30pm, Sat, 12pm- 8pm, Sunday 11am-7pm. Now you have an extra 30 minutes to get down to JapanLA during the week, after work.
